Mad Dog: The Lies of Sarah Palin

Mad Dog: Matt Taibbi's latest Rolling Stone article -- "The Lies of Sarah Palin" -- is worth a read. (Hard copy only.) In it, he reminds us that John McCain's running mate may be a tawdry, half-assed fraud -- but that's not as scary as what her candidacy really says about America. The sidebar -- "The Truth About Sarah Palin" -- is online and does a nice job of blowing the lid off her self-styled "reformer" image. (RollingStone)

Madder Dogs: Speaking of which, it seems even pit bulls have begun to rally against the world's most dangerous hockey mom. (Snuzzy)

Revisiting 'Laramie': In case you missed it last week, there was a great piece in The Times about the Tectonic Theater Company's return to Laramie, Wyo., 10 years after Matthew Shepard's murder: Their goal "is to use new interviews with real-life characters in 'The Laramie Project' not only to write an epilogue to this frequently performed play, but also to explore whether the past decade has brought any change in Laramie, its citizens and its attitudes toward gay people."
