Triangle Gay Men's Chorus Performance

Since the war started six years ago, more than 4,300 U.S. soldiers have died in Iraq and another 632 have been killed in Afghanistan. Considering the sustained violence abroad and, most recently, the hate-crime murders in Kansas and Washington, D.C. it's time to reflect on how we can make our world a more peaceful one

The cantata BraveSouls and Dreamers is based on the teachings of peacemakers Mother Teresa, Gandhi, Confucius, Buddha and Jesus. The Triangle Gay Men's Chorus performs the work of composers Robert Seeley and Robert Espindola, which explores the impacts of war against the calls for peace by major historical religious figures. The chorus performs Sunday, June 21 at 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Durham, 305 E. Main Street. Tickets are available at the door and online at the Triangle Gay Men's Chorus website.
